A Place in the Choir
A day in the country with the DGC was good for the soul

I was lucky enough to be part of the Dublin Gospel Choir for more than ten years playing and recording with this truly remarkable group. However, I don’t actually get to see them perform very often.

When they asked me to pop down to Stradbally with them over the summer and take some shots of their two sets at the Electric Picnic festival, I jumped at the chance.

It was a tricky afternoon trying to video (from two locations) and take stills but a lot of fun none the less.

Any day spent in the company of the Dublin Gospel Choir is not one to be complained about.

After years standing hidden behind the singers as a member of the DGC band, it was a real treat to soak in the power of the choir as an audience member.

Despite the early Sunday start on day-three of the festival, the faithful hordes were soon roused from their tents by the choir’s ‘Sunday Service’.
